Patrons

We are enormously grateful to our incredible Patrons and the organisations and charities that have so genorously supported us since we founded Sky Badger.

Prof. Stephen Hawking, Theoretical Physicist

Prof. Stephen Hawking is the smartest person in the world. He is Director of Research at the University of Cambridge Centre for Theoretical Cosmology and holds twelve honorary degrees. His book A Brief History of Time has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. He has also appeared in The Simpsons.

"My advice to other disabled people would be, concentrate on things your disability doesn't prevent you doing well, and don't regret the things it interferes with. Let Sky Badger help point you in the right direction. Although I was unfortunate enough to get motor neurone disease, I have been very fortunate in almost everything else. I was lucky to be working in theoretical physics, one of the few areas in which disability was not a serious handicap."

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Explorer

Sir Ranulph Fiennes is the world's greatest living explorer. He was the first to reach both Poles, the first to circumnavigate the world along its polar axis, and the first to complete an unsupported crossing of the Antarctic Continent - the longest unsupported polar journey in history. He has also climbed Everest and the North Face of the Eiger.

"I've always believed that with a brave spirit anyone and everyone can triumph in the face of difficulty. I support Sky Badger because they believe the same thing. Adventure is available to everyone, even children fighting illness and disability. Sky Badger shows them where to find it."

Lord Neuberger, Master of the Rolls

Lord Neuberger, Patron of Sky Badger

Lord Neuberger became the country's youngest Law Lord in 2007. He is one of England's most senior judges. Lord Neuberger became Master of the Rolls in October 2009 and is the 95th person to hold the office in an unbroken line stretching back to 1286. He became the youngest judge in the UK's highest court - then the House of Lords - where he took the title of Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury.

"Enabling disabled children to achieve their potential and overcome their disadvantage is an exceptionally worthwhile aim. Sky Badger does this in an imaginative, co-ordinated way, through its high quality, user-friendly, and memorably named website. It also brings together the many people who have, work with, or know about disabled children. It is a wonderful example of the benefits of the internet, and deserves all the support it can get."
