Barnardo’s have been supporting children and young people for decades and now during the current crisis children’s mental health is suffering.  Barnardo’s have a whole team of support staff to talk to children and they have heaps of online resources to help them manage their own mental health and lockdown.

Bipolar (Scotland)

Bipolar (Scotland) provide information, support and advice to people who have bipolar and their carers.

Regular meetings are held across Scotland.


Carers (UK)

Carers UK gives advice, information and support to carers via their website, Helpline and email advice service.


They campaign for lasting change on key issues affecting carers and help carers stay connected through their online Forum community.


A dedicated charity who work with people to help improve their mental health.  They have a dedicated hub for young people to be able to voice their concerns in a safe space.

HAFAL (Wales)

Hafal are a Welsh mental health charity that encourage recovery from serious mental health for yourself, with their tools and support they also encourage carers and family to help people improve their lives generally.  They work with a range of conditions across the whole of Wales.

They also campaign to improve mental health services for children and young people in Wales.

NHS Mental Health Services

There are links to the “Future In Mind” taskforce which specifically aims to improve services for children and young people.

Youth Access

Youth Access are a members lead charity focussing on the mental health of young people in the UK.

They offer free, confidential sessions in a variety of locations as well as online support.

They are part of YIACS (Youth Information, advice and counselling services)

Off The Record

Off The Record offer a variety of ways to help support yourself with your own mental health in Croydon, Merton and Sutton.

You can make contact through their message boards or live chat app.

There are also drop in sessions in those locations.


Max’s Foundation

Max’s foundation is set out to raise awareness and donations for research into genetic heart conditions, they also provide small grants to families to help make a difference to a child living with a heart condition that affects their day to day life.

The Movement Centre is dedicated to supporting children with movement disabilities. They provide specialists treatments and support.
