Jack Petchey Foundation

Sir Jack Petchey founded the Jack Petchey Foundation in 1999 to recognise the positive contributions young people make to society and to support them in achieving their potential. Since then the Foundation has supported over 2,000 initiatives for young people across London and Essex and has invested over £143m in programmes including the prestigious Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme which recognises the achievements of young people in schools and youth groups across London and Essex.

Essex Short Breaks

Essex Short Breaks provide inclusive fun and activities for disabled children living in the Essex area.

Hopes and Dreams

The Hopes and Dreams charity aims to turn the hopes and dreams of chronically, seriously or terminally ill children and young adults (aged 5 to 17 years) into a reality. Children are asked to choose three dreams in order of preference and the reasons why they would be impossible for them to fulfil. Dreams are varied and have included trips to Disney, meeting a celebrity, their favourite singer to a ride in a helicopter.

Mersea Island Festival

The Mersea Island Festival has been an annual event each August at Essex Outdoors Mersea. The Festival aims to bring together young people with or without a physical or learning disability. The camps are ideal for Inclusive clubs, Phab and Gateway clubs, Youth Groups and families with disabled young people. They provide an opportunity to try out new activities, make new friends and have loads of fun!!!
