NAC (Non-Verbal Affective Care) provide support and training for carers and support workers who engage with people or family with severe and profound intellectual disabilities with a range of programmes to support training.
Frazzled Cafe offers it’s visitors and participants a chance to openly discuss the stresses and strains of modern life without judgement or prejudice. Founded by Ruby Wax in 2017 when she realised that the audience attending her one woman show needed a safe space to talk about life.
During lockdown there are online sessions available with the hope to restart at participating at cafes around the country soon.
Affinityhub signposts to emotional support for parents of disabled children and those with special needs. It provides information on wellbeing and an overview of common emotional responses. It also includes quotes from other parent carers to remind parents that they are not alone.
The Honeypot Children’s Charity provide respite care for young carers. With lots of fun activities at their centres they really do offer a breath of fresh air for these amazing young people.
