Books for Kids and Families
There are some wonderful books written for you and your children to entertain as well as tell stories about issues that our families deal with every day.
The Children’s Trust have made a range of books so parents can read them with their children and use as a starting point for talking about acquired brain injury.
These include…
Tim-Tron
...about a little robot who bangs his head. Tim-Tron’s story explains acquired brain injury by placing it in a world of mechanical marvels. It even has an audiobook version narrated by Richard Hammond of Top Gear!
Medikidz
...explains acquired brain injury in a full-colour 32-page comic book for older readers follows Tamara after her brain injury. Tamara is feeling exhausted and misunderstood in school, before she’s whisked away by the Medikidz team. This group of superheroes explain her injury and give her some ideas for managing her condition.
